The Greater Catholic League South Division is pleased to announce its all-star soccer team for the 2018 season. Members of this prestigious team, along with winners of the categorical awards, were voted on by league coaches at a special meeting held at the conclusion of the regular season. Moeller senior forward Ben Hegge, who led the league in scoring and helped his team advance to the Division I state final for the first time in school history, and St. Xavier senior forward Gino Geiser, who finished second in the GCL South in scoring and helped his team advance to the regional semifinals, are the GCL South Co-layers of the Year.Read More

While his family and others like to compare statistical performances in the conference, Bittner says he doesn’t get caught up into social media. It’s not who he is as a student-athlete. He'd prefer to concentrate on the Panthers as a team.
“I try not to worry about my stats,” Bittner said. “I worry about the win.”

No. 1 seed Moeller, Elder and La Salle all posted victories Monday night on the statewide opening night of the Ohio High School Athletic Association Southwest Sectional Tournaments held at the sites of the highest seeded teams. As a result, the three schools advance to second-round matches on Thursday night, while No. 2 seed St. Xavier will open postseason play that night by hosting Hamilton, a 4-2 winner in its opener against Middletown, at 7 p.m. at St. Xavier Stadium.
