Frigid temperatures combined with record-low wind chill conditions have forced nearly all Greater Cincinnati schools to close today, including St. Xavier High School, but the 2019 GCL & GGCL Swimming and Diving Championships will be held as scheduled, with the swimming warm-ups set to begin at 4 p.m. at Keating Natatorium on the St. Xavier campus, followed by the competition at 5:10.  The diving portion of the meet was held Saturday at Sycamore High School.

St. Xavier and Ursuline Academy are attempting to defend their titles in the Greater Catholic League South Division for boys and the Girls’ Greater Catholic League, respectively.  The AquaBombers have won every GCL meet since 1961, and also have won 10 consecutive DI state titles and all but one crown since 2000, that coming in 2008.  Ursuline has won three straight GGCL titles and four of the last five, also winning the DI state meet in 2013-14.

Admission is $6 for adults and $4 for students.
